Chris's Bikes is on Thornton Way, 5 minutes from Cambridge City centre. We have great deals on new bikes by Fahrrad Manufaktur, Giant, Dawes and Dahon as well as on accessories and clothing. We've been in business since September 1992 and are known for excellent quality service and repair work. We also hire bikes to individuals and to organisations.

First 2012 VSF T900 Rohloff leaves shop

The first VSF T900 Rohloff 2012 has just left the shop. A customer from Henley-On-Thames has just become the lucky new owner.
This bike is in the beautiful emerald green colour.
The T900 is probably my favourite bike from the VSF range. I suppose that is for two reasons.
Firstly I have ridden this model much more than any other---it therefore suits one type of cycling that I choose to do---touring in hillyand mountaineous regions but with fairly decent road surfaces.
Secondly it is simply the fantastic quality of all the components and the frame.If you look at the testimonial page you will see at least one customer who feels the same.The Rohloff is the true heart of the machine and all other components such as the magura brakes, the MX19 double walled ,eyeletted rims with stainless spokes,the fantastic hub dynamoed standlight lighting system,tubus rack,sks mudguards,ergon grips,selle royale respiro saddle are all of similar quality..........you get the message ......this is max quality at a brilliant price.
Once you have spent the money you have a world class touring bike.
There are two main differences this year in terms of spec.Firstly the bike is now equipped with Magura HS11 brakes as opposed to HS33 last year. VSF assure me that quality and internal components are exactly the same in both models so the change makes sense for most cyclists as there is now a longer lever which for most will give better braking control.Secondly the Son hub dynamo has now been replaced with shimano model DH-3N80.
This bike is in the beautiful emerald green colour.

I will receive some more Moda bikes this week. There will be 3 Boleros in 50,52 and 54cms.Two of these bikes have slight scratches.The 54cms is a one off as it is a Bolero but named Rubato on the frame ! This appeals to me and maybe some of you ! Price of Boleros £750. I also have a Rubato 58cms very small paint blemish £750. The Rubato has just had a fantastic review in Cycling Plus.

Lets have a look at the 2011 price for this spec.this year you need to look at the TCR Advanced Sl2 which now retails for £3850.Not only that , but now mavic has refused to supply OEM bike manufacturers with their wheels you will not have the lovely Kysirium Elites.You will have to put up with DT Swiss !!
Sorry to say but the price of these offers will not come down.If anything they will increase every time I sell each bike.Sorry about that !!

Compare this to the specs of the new 2011 bikes and you will see what a great deal it is.!!
The 2011 equivalent or closest equivalent will be the TCR composite 1 at £2000---but remember this is only a T600 carbon frame.Still lovely but not the standard of the Advanced frame which is T700 !!
Also the Advanced 4 I have left has a 105 chainset not the Shimano R550 which it would normally have come with as standard.
If you want 105 on an Advanced frame for 2011 you need to look at the TCR Advanced 2 which retails at £2250.
Maybe now you can see what a good deal this bike is ?? Maybe not !!

I must admit I am amazed this bike is still in the shop.I am effectively selling this for the price of the titanium frameset !!It is an absolute bargain.All the other bargain Dawes touring bikes I have had recently have sold in the last couple of weeks---but this the best of the bunch is still here.
One never ceases to be amazed.This is a beautiful machine which rides superbly and is a real bargain !! Oh well blah blah blah.

I keep noticing people arriving at my site looking for Giant Defy or TCR carbon frames. I do have quite a few although I have recently sold most of them. In Defy Advanced I have 1 small,1medium and 1 large. In TCR's I have a red TCR Advanced frame in medium.I have a TCR Advanced SL with ISP in large ,black.This is brand new still in box. I have a TCR Advanced SL in blue and white ISP large.Brand new in box.This is the frame from the TCR Advanced SL 0 from 2010 which retailed for £8500. I have a TCR Advanced ISP small from 2007 in black full carbon everything.VERY very attractive and almost now historic frameset. I have a TCR Advanced full carbon (frame forks and steerer ) from I think 2008.Pimky red in large.Brand new unboxed. I have a n SCR carbon 0 from approx 2008.This is also full carbon everything and the complete bike when clothed was full Dura ace.Gorgeous looking thing. Anyway the list goes on blah ,blah, blah !! Oh and don't forget all my ex demo TCR's and Defy's I keep mentioning----everything is complete carbon on frame and fork.They are all running on full Dura ace even down to chain and cassette.They are all running with Kysirium Superlight Sl wheels and carbon FSA stems and bars.Several have now sold but some still available.Around £2000 each, some a bit more.

Please note that yes I have amazing deals but many people think I literally only have or can get the bikes I list !! Of course like any shop I can get all models and will hopefully be able to sell them cheaper than anyone else. Do remember also that when you are buying the cheapest price shimano on the net you are nearly always buying grey import material.It works fine but if you ever need warranty you will not get it.This is because Madison the official shimano importer in the U.K is under no obligation to offer warranty on produce brought in through other routes.You really need to check who your supplier bought from.If you are concerned about warranty that is.
These wheels which I will sell cheaper than anyone else will have that warranty which is very good for you.
Please don't phone for a price just work out your best price and then come to me with that !
Then you will have lovely wheels at a great price with full warranty !!
Moda Presto 2010 XC full suspension Mountain Bike (10.10.11)
Moda Presto 2010 XC full suspension mountain bike for sale. These bikes retailed for £1999.They have some very special kit on --- including Rockshox Reba SL front suspension with lockout and 100mm travel.(Over £500 retail) Rockshox Ario 2.1 rear suspension unit. XT chainset and rear derailleur. SLX front derailleur Deore shifters and hydraulic brakeset. American Classic 350 wheelset (over £450 retail !! Selling the whole bike for £975.You could break this and make a profit on Ebay at this price !! Which is what I will do if it does not sell. As of 26/02/11 only one 19.5" left.

Giant SCR C0 frameset.Brand new.Era is 2008, 2009ish. Medium (50cms ).
This is a handmade frame from T700 or T800 carbon.I have included the correct full carbon (carbon steerer) forks.I have also added a brand new headset,both derailleur hangers and seat post clamp.Therefore all the tricky bits are included for you.
This is a beautiful frameset which when clothed was full Dur ace.Infact it deserves nothing less !
